Joods-Christelijke Dialoog

The Foundation’s goal is to increase knowledge of Judaism among the general public, Christians in particular, and to encourage encounters between Christians and Jews, for the benefit of one another and of society, as well as all matters that, in the broadest sense, are related to these objectives, fall within their scope, and/or may contribute to them.

Jules Isaac Stichting

The Jules Isaac Stichting was established in 2015. The stichting is named after the French Jewish historian Jules Isaac. Our goal is to promote the development of a fully-fledged Christian theology that is truly free from replacement theology.

Such replacement theology is based on the idea that the church has taken the place of the people of Israel. Unfortunately, much theology still bears traces of replacement theology. This way of thinking is at odds with the testimony of the Bible and has caused great harm to the church and the Jewish people for centuries. We believe that overcoming this way of thinking will lead to unprecedented blessings for the Church, for Israel, and also for the nations.

Platform Appèl Kerk en Israël

The Platform Appèl Kerk en Israël gives shape, within and from the grassroots of the PKN, to the church’s mission of unwavering solidarity with the people of Israel, as articulated in Article 1 of the Church Order.

Our foundation aims to do so in a decisive manner and in accordance with the wording of this mandate in (particularly Article I of) the PKN’s church order. Together with others, we wish to reflect on the sources of Christianity, namely the Jewish tradition and the rabbinic writings. Wherever possible, we want to combat antisemitism by reflecting on the role of the church’s anti-Jewish history and its continuing impact on the church and the world today.

We want to help Christians understand the significance of the Jewish people in God’s plan for this world. We have a message for the church: the church of the Lord Jesus Christ has not replaced Israel. There are still several important promises for Israel that will be fulfilled in the near future.

Dirk Monshouwer Stichting

The Foundation’s mission is “to produce and commission Bible translations for use in worship and Study Houses.” In doing so, it continues the work to which Dirk Monshouwer dedicated himself for many years in numerous ways.

It is the Foundation’s conviction that the completion of the New Bible Translation in 2004 and the publication of the Naarden Bible in that same year by no means mark the end of all translation work. On the contrary, it regards these new translations as a welcome stimulus to promote the translation work of active pastors and others. This is based on the conviction and experience that up-to-date translation work is a necessary prerequisite for contemporary preaching. Furthermore, constant engagement with the original languages of Holy Scripture provides a joy without which preaching withers and grows dull, and the Study House falls into disrepair.

International Council of Christians and Jews

Since 1947, the ICCJ has been successfully engaged in the historic renewal of Jewish-Christian relations. We promote understanding and cooperation between Christians and Jews based on respect for each other’s identity and integrity. In more recent years, we have become increasingly involved in the Abrahamic dialogue: the encounter between Jews, Christians, and Muslims.

OJEC stands for “Overlegorgaan van Joden en Christenen in de Nederlanden.” OJEC, therefore, stands first and foremost for dialogue, and that is not a casual commitment.
